What is difference between Chalit chart and Kundli chart?

The main difference between Chalit kundli and Janam kundli or what we normally refer to as kundli is that : Chalit is the house reference for that planet and Kundli chart is the sign reference of the planet.

So what I mean to say is, we get the information about - Which sign the planet occupies from Normal kundli chart. And we can get the information about - Which house the planet is sitting during your birth from Chalit kundli.

What is Chalit kundli?

When you are born one of the sign is rising in the 1st house at that time. This is called ascendant OR Lagna house. And the sign is Lagna rasi. But it is possible that this rising sign might be in the middle of the horizon OR at the starting OR even might be at the end of the horizon. When a sign is align at the middle of the horizon. Your kundli chart and chalit chart are identical. But in later two cases you see a slight difference in planetary house placements of both the charts.

Why the need of Chalit kundli?

Chalit kundli is needed to know the exact positions of the planet during your birth, irrespective of that planet’s sign. By this way an Astrologer can have a proper idea of which house that planet influences the most.
