What is difference between Chalit chart and Kundli chart?

The main difference between Chalit kundli and Janam kundli or what we normally refer to as kundli is that : Chalit is the house reference for that planet and Kundli chart is the sign reference of the planet.

So what I mean to say is, we get the information about - Which sign the planet occupies from Normal kundli chart.

What is Chalit kundli?

When you are born one of the sign is rising in the 1st house at that time. This is called ascendant OR Lagna house. And the sign is Lagna rasi. But it is possible that this rising sign might be in the middle of the horizon OR at the starting OR even might be at the end of the horizon.

Why the need of Chalit kundli?

Chalit kundli is needed to know the exact positions of the planet during your birth, irrespective of that planet’s sign. By this way an Astrologer can have a proper idea of which house that planet influences the most.

Let me explain why, Renowned work Phaladeepika says Happiness can be seen from 10th house and 7th house.

There are basic informations and understandings around this house as :- This house is mainly linked with partner, Life partner or Spouse, Marriage and partnership.

But as per my humble understanding of Indian astrology I have always found that there are more deeper and underlying meanings to it.

It is a saying amongst astrologers who link this subject with spirituality is that :- Our Soul enters this world through 7th house and sits in 1st house (then we are born). Our Soul even leave this world through 7th house.

Essentially in Astrology,

7th house says how we see this world and how we deal with this word. So this way this further give us an idea of our interactions with this world and also the people we deal with. It is said that the world is a Mirror of our own selves. The way we treat the world, the same treatment we get.

The Spouse and 7th house

The major subject of 7th house in Astrology is Spouse or Life partner. A strong and well conditioned 7th house in any ones birth chart truly indicates Good marriage and a blissful life partner.

People often say, Who you are thats what you get. I have read Astrologers saying that, your Life partner is just a deep inner reflection of your self. And this is very true.

Does Rahu in the 12th house make it hard to save money?

12th house is called Vyaya sthana and it is linked with the expenditure and losses. It is also related with the foreign lands and private spaces like Bed room, Hospitals and sanctuaries. It is also linked with Meditation and Moksha.
Rahu is the planet that likes to achieve the admiration, recognition in a short term and wants himself at top of the social hierarchical order.
In the 12th house, it leads the person to use the weapon of 12th house i.e. foreign and distant lands, private spaces and excessive expenditure in order to show off the society.
If Rahu is in connection with malefic planet and sitting in the enemy sign then native may face difficulties by the unknown and distant enemies.
Native may like to show off by taking the loans and excessive use of credit cards though he may not be able to repay it.
As Rahu is in 12th house - Ketu will be in the 6th house. Here Ketu causes the detached feeling towards the debts, diseases and enemies. Native may not take subjects of the 6th house very seriously.He may ignore the disease and even enemies. Though Ketu may help to some extent to over come enemies but he may not be able to differentiate between enemies and friends.

Rahu aspects the 6th house and it gives rise to some chronic health issues in the Rahu time period with malefic connection.
Rahu also aspects the 8th house and gives passion to learn and understand things which are not visible to the naked eyes.
Rahu is a planet that increases the gambling or risk taking tendencies of the native to the concerned house. Here in the 12th house native is seen to take risks of expenditure and sometimes losses to achieve the higher admiration and recognition.

How does an astrologer judge whether a chart is strong or weak other than having good yogas?

Yes, I personally do that analysis as a first step. Judging the foundation of the horoscope is very important to access the overall strength of the horoscope. All yogas will work to the extent in which the foundation is strong. Let me give some thumb rule here,

Trine(1st house, 5th house, and 9th house) are like the foundation of the horoscope. Unless the foundation is strong, a building can’t survive long. In a similar way, strong Trine lord or benefic aspection of Trine house indicate that native will have an overall good life.
Kendra(1st house, 4th house, 7th house, and 10th house) are like pillars of the horoscope, Kendra occupied by benefic is considered auspicious. So benefic planet occupying or aspecting Kendra is another point to consider to see if the horoscope is strong.
Lagna represents self, a strong Lagna lord itself is a clear indication that native will come up in life without much odds. Dusthana houses(6th house, 8th house, and 12th house) without any planet itself is a good sign. There is a popular saying that “Without illness is the greatest wealth”. So 6th house(represents disease) free from affliction is much better than having Dhana Yoga and afflicted 6th house.
Last but not least dasha bukti, even if some of the planets are afflicted and the corresponding dasha doesn’t come for the native then native will not see much impact of bad dasha. On other hands if one planet(say Venus) is much afflicted and comes in middle life(say for 20 years) then most of the time in precious age will be difficult.

Below are the effects given by different planets when in first house :

Sun in the First House - Strong moral nature, righteous-minded, ambition and love of power, tends to be well supported by good health and vitality. Cheerfulness and an optimistic temperament help to ensure popularity. It adds respect to the personality and gives lofty motives. If with Saturn or Mars, it indicates scars and a hot constitution. The blood becomes impure and there will be itches all over the body. Fevers, inflammations and eye affections may also be anticipated.
Moon in the First House - The native becomes fanciful and romantic, a moderate eater. Considerable restlessness is usually tempered by an easy-going disposition. The fortune is generally changing.
